Continent: South East Asia

Capital City: Phnom Penh

Currency: Cambodian Riel/US Dollar

Year I Visited: 2015

With crazy cheap prices, great scenery and one of the most famous attractions in the world, it’s not too difficult to see why so many people flock to this small country. Angkor Wat alone is worth a look and there’s so much more beyond.

My Cambodia Highlights

Here’s where I got to in Cambodia. Click the destination name for related blog posts.

Siem Reap

A bustling tourist town home to some ruins you may have heard of called Angkor Wat. Yes, it’s touristy. Yes, it’s expensive. But it’s also incredible and there are plenty of opportunities to get away from the crowds and explore abandoned temples Lara Croft style.

A small town with plenty of charm and some great hostels which give it a great backpacker vibe. Don’t miss the scenic countryside nearby, as well as the incredible spectacle of thousands of bats migrating as night falls.
